说明：The present pictogram appears on a broad range of Late Shang vessels and likely refers to an important clan in power during the transition between Shang and Zhou. Compare a you bearing the present clan sign sold in these rooms, 15th April 1980, lot 7; a yan steamer from the collection of Song Emperor Huizong included in the Xuanhe bogutu (ca. 1107-110), juan 18, p. 31; and a ding tripod uncovered from tomb no. 17 at Xiaotuncun in the Shang capital of Anyang, in Yinxu qingtongqi [Bronze wares from Yinxu], Beijing, 1985, pl. 58.8.
