Of globular form rising from a short spreading foot to a tall cylindrical neck with a gently flared mouth, fitted with a globular side spout, the porcelain stopper retained by a silver chain and collar. Finely painted in underglaze cobalt blue, the body is divided into alternating broad, lobed panels depicting cranes in flight amidst cloud scrolls and narrow diaper-pattern compartments. The shoulder is encircled by a border of pearl roundels alternating with geometric reserves, while the neck is decorated with a band of upright plantain leaves below a narrow collar of scrolling foliage at the rim. The globular spout is similarly divided into panels of stylised floral sprays and pearl roundels.
