1)Commemorative medal in memory of the Tonkin Expedition (1883-1885).The obverse shows the allegory of the French Republic wearing a helmet inscribed “Patrie”, surrounded by the legend “RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE”. The reverse bears the inscription “Tonkin, Chine, Annam, 1883-1885” as well as the names of the seven engagements: “Cau-Giaï, Sontay, Bac-Ninh, Fou-Tchéou, Formose, Tuyen-Quan and Pescadores”. Silver medal with hallmark, variant for naval personnel with seven battles. With olive-shaped suspension loop and original ribbon. 2) 2) China Campaign Medal (“Médaille de Chine”), commemorative medal in memory of the China Campaign of 1900-1901 in connection with the Boxer Rebellion.
The obverse shows the allegorical representation of the French Republic with military attributes; the reverse bears a corresponding commemorative inscription for the campaign. Silver medal with original ribbon
