The finely potted teapot and cover of globular form with a loop handle and straight spout, decorated to the exterior in en-grisaille and gilt decoration depicting a rare continuous agricultural scene with figures harvesting red sorghum crop (红高粱 hong gao liang), which was used in the production of noodles and baijiu spirit, sorghum was notoriously grown in the north of China where the production of wheat was challenging due to its arid soil, the cover similarly decorated with a landscape scene
