Finely worked in polychrome silk threads and couched gilt thread on a blue silk ground, the central roundel enclosing a crane medallion, flanked by ruyi-shaped clouds, the upper section centered with a flaming pearl issuing from a lotus blossom above a ceremonial canopy (baogai), with ribbon-tied other auspicious emblems arranged around the field, all enclosed within a narrow couched gilt-thread border.

The crane (he, 鹤) occupies a prominent place in Chinese visual culture as an emblem of longevity, wisdom, and transcendence. Closely associated with Daoist immortals, it is believed to serve as their celestial mount and is therefore regarded as a symbol of immortality.
