Five Dynasties, possibly Hengzhou kiln
The oval body with gently lobed high shoulders surmounting a trumpet neck with rolled rim, the slender double-spout opposite to the tall handle, all supported on a short ring foot, covered inside and out with a translucent olive-green glaze of matt surface, the underside partially glazed, with traces of kiln support to the foot rim.
8 1/2in (21.5cm) high (green brocade box).

Hengzhou kiln, located in Hengyang, Hunan province, was a major celadon maker from late Tang through the Song dynasty. A similar double-spout celadon ewer in the collection of the Hunan Provincial Museum is illustrated by Chen Yue, 'Preliminary Research on Hengzhou Celadon Wares in the Collection of the Hunan Provincial Museum', , Beijing, 2013, p. 439, no. 11, described as Northern Song dynasty.
