说明:The decorative schema for the present group, depicting the life of Jesus in detailed vignettes of grisaille enamel punctuated with bright gilding, has been attributed to a group of prints produced by Dutch artist Jan Luiken (1649-1712).
As Dr. Christiaan Jörg theorises in his seminal work on the Luyken group, these designs (alongside ones depicting the Descent from the Cross, the Ascension and Martin Luther) were most likely produced in China directly following a Dutch engraving and produced for the four Christian Feast days; see Christiaan Jörg, Chinese Ceramics in the Collection of the Rijkmuseum, Amsterdam: the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Amsterdam, 1997, pl. 322.
