Well potted with rounded sides and a short straight foot, covered inside and out with a thick glaze of pale milky blue tone, thinning to an olive and greyish hue towards the extremities, with irregularly splashes of reddish-purple swirl to the interior, the thick glaze on the exterior falls short of the foot, Japanese wood box.

Celebrated for their mesmerising palette, purple-splashed 'Jun' wares are notable for their captivating interplay of sky-blue and lavender tones. The dramatic magenta-purple splashes were achieved by painting a copper-rich pigment over the blue glaze before firing — a highly volatile process where the final outcome rested entirely on the vagaries of the kiln. This element of chance lies at the very heart of their enduring appeal, rendering every piece a unique creation. Such abstract, unpredictable painterly effects resonated profoundly with the literati and aesthetic elites, who championed restraint, subtlety, and natural harmony. 斂圓口，深弧壁，下承矮圈足。通體罩施天藍釉，釉色微泛灰意，口沿一道米黃，碗內天藍釉上綴以紫紅斑紋。其釉彩迷人，素為世所珍。燒造之際，匠人以銅氧化物為著色劑，以求濃豔之紫紅斑。然火候難馭，成色全憑窯火機緣。正因這份不可預期之偶然，方成就其歷久不衰之魅力，使每一器皆成獨一無二之佳作。此亦與文人及鑑賞名家所崇尚之含蓄、細膩與自然和諧之審美，深相契合。可比對一件金／元時期鈞窯紫斑碗，尺寸略小，售於巴黎蘇富比，2024年6月14日，拍品編號70。
