说明：Although the form of the present vessel appears to be unprecedented in published sources, the fine quality of its white clay-body, its globular form and unctuous white glaze closely connect it with the variety of splendid forms produced around the tenth to twelfth centuries in Northern China. Compare the related globular tuluping form of a Ding-glazed jar from the Okada Museum of Art, sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 4th September 2026, lot 2159; and a particularly closely related pomegranate-form jar in the Palace Museum, Beijing, attributed to the Ding kilns of the Five Dynasties period in The Complete Colleciton of Treasures of the Palace Museum. Porcelain of the Jin and Tang Dynasties, Hong Kong, 1996, pl. 224.
The dating of this lot is consistent with the results of a thermoluminescence test, Oxford Authentication Ltd., no. P125p53.
