註：一九七八年，吳冠中到雲南寫生，四月下旬抵達嚮往已久之西雙版納。他謂「版納遠遠近近皆植物花木，是綫構成的世界，天氣總晴朗，百里見秋毫」，並創作了一組富少數民族色彩的作品。本幅傣族村寨，挺拔的椰子樹直沖天際，柔韌帶勁的棕櫚葉佔據畫面上方，與下方棱角分明的竹樓形成輕重對比。竹樓頂如大鳥展翅，庇蔭著井然的梁柱結構，外廊欄杆如紐帶，與瓦片的平行橫紋均具幾何形式美，難怪畫家稱之美矣！
