吾眼有神，吾腕有鬼。壬子三月十九日，爰翁。
註：大千好傳統戲曲，欣賞唱腔做工外，亦以畫家視角細考戲劇人物造型。本幅未有指涉劇目或角色，臉部鈎劃不似淨、丑誇張，而較近旦角妝扮。畫中人鳳目盼兮，眼蓋雙頰濃施胭脂，朱唇點染，眉心飾花鈿，眼旁兩道朱線垂下，如繫面具，益添舞臺化裝飾意味。其散髮上揚，髮絲隨勢翻飛，省略身軀描繪，仍無損動勢，戲劇張力滿溢畫面。
