十八世紀 銅鎏金阿閦佛坐像
Akshobhya is one of the Five Tathagatas (Five Wisdom Buddhas) and is traditionally associated with the eastern direction. His principal identifying attribute is the bhumisparsha mudra, or 'earth-touching gesture', in which the right hand reaches down towards the ground, recalling Shakyamuni Buddha's calling the earth to witness at the moment of his enlightenment. Akshobhya is generally depicted seated in meditation and, in tantric Buddhist imagery, may appear crowned and richly jewelled, as in the present figure.
