Jiaqing seal mark and of the period
Of faceted pear shape, the heavily potted vessel moulded on each broad side with a peach-shaped panel, the neck flanked by a pair of square tubular handles, all covered with a widely crackled grey glaze, the foot ring dressed brown, the base with a six-character seal mark in underglaze blue, fitted box.

The glaze of the present vase is inspired by the famous ware of the Song dynasty. A related Song dynasty -glazed example is in the Qing Court Collection, illustrated in , Hong Kong, 1996, p.45, no.39.
