The serene figure standing on a base of swirling clouds, the hands holding a scroll in front of the body, hidden under voluminous robes exposing pendent jewellery chains and bare feet, the full-face finely modelled with eyes downcast, the hair swept up behind an elaborate diadem, reserving two strands of hair falling loosely on the shoulders, the back impressed with a Bojiyuren seal mark within a square.

The present figure is notable for its impressive size and bears the seal mark Boji Yuren (博及漁人, 'May virtue extend to all fishermen'). In Blanc de Chine: The Porcelain of Têhua in Fukien, London, 1969, pp. 259–260, P. J. Donnelly observes that this seal mark occurs predominantly on figures of medium size, with both larger and smaller examples encountered relatively infrequently.
Compare a similarly sized Dehua guanyin figure also holding a scroll in her hands, sold at Christie's London, 9 May 2017, lot 127.
