Jiaqing four-character mark and of the period (1796-1820)
The elegant double gourd bottle molded in high relief with a network of leafy vines suspending double gourds, the design picked out in coral-red and green enamels set against the white ground porcelain body, the base plaque with a four-character Jiaqing mark, the floral stopper ensuite.

Porcelain bottles of this form, size and quality of molding are quite rare and quite coveted. Gourds on a vine evoke a wish for numerous descendants huluwandai, as a pun for mandai and can also allude to receiving blessings and promotions.
