An extremely rare pair of Chinese blue and white 'Foreigners Presenting Treasures' plates

A pair of finely potted imperial saucer dishes, each with gently flared rims, painted in underglaze cobalt blue with a central medallion depicting a Buddhist lion (shizi) supporting a richly ornamented canopy. The mythical beast is flanked by two foreign tribute bearers, one presenting an elephant tusk and the other a large ruyi sceptre, all set within a rocky landscape beneath scrolling clouds. The cavetto is enclosed by a continuous floral scroll bearing eight lotus blooms, while the exterior is decorated with four canopies suspending lanterns and banners, alternating with ribbon-tied auspicious emblems comprising coral branches and ruyi-heads above a band of scrolling foliage encircling the foot.
此對御製青花盤胎體精細，口沿微撇。盤心圓形開光內繪佛獅進寶圖，一頭佛獅承托裝飾華麗的寶蓋，兩側各立一名胡人進貢者，一人捧象牙，另一人持大型如意，人物置身於流雲繚繞的山石景致之中。
內壁環繪纏枝蓮紋，共飾八朵蓮花。盤背繪四組華蓋，華蓋下懸燈籠及幡帶，與綬帶束結的珊瑚枝、如意等吉祥雜寶相間排列，近足處另環飾一道纏枝花葉紋。
