The lobed censer decorated with two large shaped panels, one enclosing butterflies hovering above foliage, the other panel depicting cherry blossoms and other seasonal flowers, the side panels with irises and prunus respectively, surrounded by chrysanthemums and scrolling foliage against a midnight blue ground, the cover repeating the design surmounted by a finial in the form of a chrysanthemum, unsigned.
