Provenance: a direct gift from the artist to industrialist Mr Pak-fei Liu (1914-1984), thence by descent
Pak-fei Liu (1914-1984) was the oldest son of Budson Liu (1886-1950) whose family legacy stood at the forefront of Hong Kong's luxury goods and services industry for nearly a century. This legacy began in 1920 when family patriarch Budson Liu opened his luxury watch boutique in Central, Hong Kong. The dynasty entered a new era when Pak-Fei Liu expanded into international manufacturing by establishing a watch factory in Japan and distributing Seiko watches throughout Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
