A deep bowl with a gently contoured rim, finely decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. The exterior is painted with a continuous mountainous river landscape, animated with sailing boats, pagodas, and rustic dwellings set among trees, rocky outcrops, and distant peaks. The interior is decorated with a broad landscape border surrounding a central medallion with related scenery.
Such richly detailed landscape designs became highly admired in Europe during the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, where Chinese blue and white porcelain was prized not only for its exotic material but also for its intricate depictions of an imagined distant world. The continuous river landscapes, with their mountains, pavilions, and waterways, strongly influenced European perceptions of China and contributed to the fascination with chinoiserie that emerged among European collectors and artists.
此碗深腹，口沿微呈起伏，通體以青花精繪山水圖。外壁通景描繪江河山色，帆船往來其間，樓閣與村舍掩映於林木、山石及遠峰之中。碗內沿繪寬幅山水紋，中心圓形開光內亦繪相近景致。
十六世紀末至十七世紀初，此類構圖繁密、細節豐富的山水紋飾在歐洲備受推崇。中國青花瓷不僅因材質新奇而受到珍視，其所描繪的遙遠東方景象同樣引人入勝。連綿展開的江河山水、亭臺樓閣與水鄉景致，深刻影響了當時歐洲人對中國的想像，也推動了歐洲收藏家與藝術家對中國風藝術的熱衷。
