款識：
草長佛頭青，山空春寂寂。一雨又如煙，濕雲和露滴。衍鏞先生屬正，乙酉梅子黃時，心阿蘭若住持壽。
鈐印：「潘天壽」。
藏印：「丁」（鈐於簽條）、「莫一點」（鈐於包首）。

上款：「衍鏞」即畫家丁衍庸。題中「梅子黃時」即五月，潘天壽時任重慶國立藝專校長兼國畫系主任，丁衍庸於該校教授西畫。本幅乃抗戰即將勝利時，二人互贈之作品。
註：莫一點經常向其師丁公談及喜歡潘天壽、林風眠、關良的畫作，認為他們未囿於傳統，筆墨風格鮮明，丁公遂欣然檢出本幅相讓。

莫一點（b.1947），廣東新會人，香港畫家、美術評論家，丁衍庸高足。一九六四年拜入丁門，在老師的指導及薰陶下，繪事益進，並開啟對書畫收藏的興趣。莫氏閒暇喜壯遊，跋涉大江南北，在旅途中積累創作素材， 並遍訪畫壇名家，求教藝事及繪畫心得，與關良、程十髮、黎雄才、賴少其等人皆建立深厚私交，畫家們欣賞他的謙遜、敏求，引為後輩知己，不吝寫贈，故所積甚豐。
本輯作品，俱來源清晰，多直接得自畫家，關良兩幀早年寫生，乃家屬割愛相讓。丁公為其所作，向來備受稱道，不少屬命題訂製，題材特殊，筆精墨妙，不與俗同。尤可珍者，乃潘天壽為丁衍庸所寫〈蘭竹圖〉，丁公後轉讓予莫氏，足證師生情深義重，亦不乏獎掖、肯定之意。
