Footnotes
十八/十九世紀 白玉帶皮蟬紋佩
In Chinese culture, the cicada has long served as a symbol of Immortality and rebirth. The cicada's life cycle, emerging from the earth after years as a pupa and transforming into a winged adult, symbolises renewal, resurrection, and transcendence. Closely associated with spiritual elevation, the cicada also embodies the shedding of worldly attachments and the attainment of a higher state of existence.
