The lower section elegantly cast of lobed form, raised on a flared gilt-bronze openwork foot, the body decorated with four cloisonné enamel panels with flowering branches issuing from rocky outcrops against a turquoise ground, beneath a broad openwork frieze of scrolling foliage and sinuous dragons in gilt-bronze, the shoulder further decorated with a band of floral scrollwork in cloisonné enamel, repeated around the flaring upper section, the mouth rim finely modelled in imitation of bamboo, applied with a pair of archaistic mythical beasts in the form of the upright loop handles, box.

Gilt-bronze and cloisonné enamel baskets of this type are rare. See a related cloisonné enamel incense burner in the form of a flower basket, Qing dynasty, in the Qing Court Collection (acc.no.Gu00117263). See also a cloisonné enamel hanging basket, second half of the 17th century, illustrated by H.Brinker and A.Lutz, , New York, 1989, pl.161. Compare also with a similar gilt-bronze and cloisonné enamel flower basket, Qianlong, in the Museum of East Asian Art, Cologne (acc.no.D2).
The present vessel has an apocryphal incised four-character mark. Although such a mark evokes the celebrated cloisonné wares of the Jingtai period (1450–1457), the use of Jingtai marks on Qing cloisonné was a deliberate reference to the perceived antiquity and Imperial prestige of these earlier wares. Comparable Qing examples bearing Jingtai marks are recorded in the Qing Court Collection, including a cloisonné enamel square vase, Kangxi, with a Jingtai mark (acc.no.Gu00116830). The combination of a Kangxi period form and decoration with a Jingtai mark therefore reflects the Qing Court's interest in reviving and emulating the prestigious cloisonné tradition associated with the Ming Court.
此式銅胎鎏金掐絲琺瑯籃式香瓶極罕。稀例可參考清宮舊藏清代花籃式香爐（故00117263），以及十七世紀下半葉之掐絲琺瑯吊籃，後者圖見 H.Brinker 及 A.Lutz，《Chinese Cloisonné: The Pierre Uldry Collection》，紐約，1989年，圖版161。科隆東亞藝術博物館也有一件乾隆銅胎鎏金掐絲琺瑯花籃（館藏編號：D2）。
此瓶器底有一後刻「景泰年製」仿款。古人以明代景泰年製掐絲琺瑯為珍，遂稱「景泰藍」，有清一朝，秉承此項前朝宮廷珍藝傳統，掐絲琺瑯器偶落景泰仿款，以昭慕古之心。清宮舊藏清朝署景泰仿款器例，包括一件康熙年製方瓶（故00116830）。以康熙年間風行之形與飾，配以景泰仿款，體現清代宮廷的古為今用。
