Both handles have been broken off and refixed, with minor losses and retouching, the restoration now cracking slightly. Retouched chips to the tips of the handles and two of the feet. Two legs broken off and refixed.

说明：Large porcelain incense burners like the present, inspired in form by archaic bronze ding tripods, were made in a range of colours as part of sumptuously decorated altar garnitures for the imperial palaces of Beijing and Chengde, alongside candlesticks, gu beaker vases and occasionally other Tibetan metalware-inspired forms. These garnitures appear to have been first formalised in the Qianlong period (1736-1795) but continued to be produced and refined in the ensuing reigns, particularly those of the Jiaqing (1796-1820) and Daoguang (1820-1850) Emperors.
Compare a closely related censer of Jiaqing mark and period with a lime-green ground in place of the present turquoise, sold as part of a complete five-piece garniture in our New York rooms, 16th March 2016, lot 308; a yellow-ground example sold individually in our Hong Kong rooms, 3rd October 2017, lot 3715; and another lime-green example sold at Christie's London, 8th November 2011, lot 412.
