White porcelain with a glossy, slightly bluish glaze in the traditional "Blanc de Chine" style. Guanyin stands barefoot in an elegant pose on a round, unglazed lotus pedestal. She wears a long, flowing robe with delicate drapery, a hood over her pinned-up hair, and an elaborate, three-strand pearl necklace across her chest. Four-character seal mark on the inner rim of the hollow interior: *Xue Changsen zuo* (Made by Xue Changsen).
Former European private collection - Few glaze imperfections, pedestal with sand adhesions
Xue Changsen was a well-known master of porcelain sculpture who was active in the early 20th century. He was a member of the famous "Fujian Guild" (Fujian Huiguan) in Jingdezhen. This group included the best sculptors of the era, such as Zeng Longsheng and Wei Hongtai
