The globular body painted with a continuous landscape depicting a lady with a boy attendant beneath a magnolia tree on one side, and a scholar beside a warrior on the reverse, the figures' faces painted using a stipple painting technique, all beneath a loop handle, the tripod stand with floral aprons, with straps supporting the cylindrical heater and cover.

Jeremy Mason is a noted bibliophile and dealer in Chinese and Japanese art who started his career at Christie's in the late 1960s, particularly known for his collection of Oscar Wilde books and ephemera, sold by Bonhams London in February 2026. His Chinese art collection was housed in his 18th century townhouse, Hoyle's House, London, some pieces for the last 50 years.
