The fine nigoshide body of cupped octagonal form with flared lip, raised on low circular foot, the exterior decorated with a continuous scene over eight lobed reserves of a ho-o bird with elaborate tail feathers in flight over flowering kiri branches, the inner rim with a dense and colorful lotus scroll border; the lip with brown dressing.
