Compare this vase with a pair of revolving vases of the same size and shape in cloisonne enamel and gilt-bronze, from the Clague collection, illustrated in Claudia Brown, Chinese Cloisonne. The Clague Collection, Phoenix, AZ, 1980, pl. 58, pp. 126-127. Compare also with a vase of the same type, dated to the 19th century, sold in Sotheby's Monaco, 9 February 1982, lot 1263.
