Sutra covers of this type were embroidered in silk rather than executed as conventional paper manuscripts. The front and back panels are typically decorated with the Eight Buddhist Emblems, lotus and scrolling floral motifs, as well as flaming jewels and Sanskrit inscriptions, reflecting strong imperial and Tibetan Buddhist devotional characteristics. Compare with a related set of eighteenth-century embroidered sutra covers from the Triyāna Sutra, see Christie's, Hong Kong, 30 May 2005, Lot 1246.
此類經頁封面以絲繡製成，與一般紙本佛經不同，前後扉飾常飾八吉祥、蓮花、纏枝紋及火焰寶珠等佛教吉祥圖案，並繡梵文經文，具有濃厚宮廷及藏傳佛教供奉性質。可比較一組清十八世紀刺繡《三蘊經》經頁封面，見佳士得，香港，2005年5月30日，拍品1246號。
