The decorative scheme of this dish may be distinctive to the Yongzheng Imperial kilns and is rare. The interior is finely painted with a ground of interlocking fangsheng (方勝) motifs, interspersed with five groups of ruyi clouds supporting peaches, an auspicious symbol of longevity. The motif, a legendary hair ornament of the Queen Mother of the West, characterised by its symmetrical and balanced configuration of interlocking lozenges, conveys the auspicious meanings of unity, harmony, and shared purpose.
