Of rectangular form with gilt metal mounts, the hinged cover printed in red with 'Les Amours Pastorales', engraved by Duflos after Boucher, the sides with scrollwork panels depicting children emblematic of Painting, Sculpture, Astronomy and Commerce, the base with two long-tailed 'pheasants', engraved by Ravenet, 5.6cm x 7.3cm including mounts
