Finely potted with gently flared sides rising from a short, straight foot to a gently everted rim, freely carved to the interior with lotus blossoms, covered overall, except for the foot, in a translucent glaze, mounted with a metal rim, fitted box.

Both lotus and daylily were highly favoured decorative motifs on Ding wares during the Song dynasty. For comparison, see a Ding carved 'lotus' dish of similar shape, Northern Song/Jin dynasty, in the Palace Museum, Taipei, exhibited in Decorated Porcelains of Dingzhou: White Ding Wares from the Collection of the Palace Museum, Taipei, 2014, cat.no.II-42. 蓮花與萱草皆為宋代定窯極具代表性之裝飾紋樣。比較一件器形相似之北宋/金定窯刻劃蓮紋盤，現藏於台北故宮博物院，曾展出於《定州花瓷：院藏定窯系白瓷特展》，台北，2014年，圖版II-42；以及清宮舊藏一件尺寸稍大之北宋定窯白釉刻花萱草紋折腰碗，現藏於北京故宮博物院，館藏編號:故00143059。
另比較倫敦古董商覺是軒藏一件定窯萱草紋葵口盤，售於倫敦邦瀚斯，2025年11月6日，拍品編號166。
