註：本幅以猛禽入畫，袛見老鷹高踞磐石，倚虬松，曰：獨立蒼茫有所思。自有豪氣凌雲，卓立不群之慨！全畫純出水墨，渴筆重墨，蒼勁有力，見老辣意放。老鷹神態傲然，目迸精光，威嚴自生；而通體毛羽烏黑，潤澤透亮，極現質感。他據此造型再繪老鷹雄姿，乃三年後與張大千等同遊臺中，乘興為羊汝德寫蒼鷹，大千添補竹石，與本幅相比，又同中有異了。
