Comprising: a blue and white 'Neptune' tea cup and saucer; a soft paste flower-form saucer with quail amongst bamboo and flowering plants; a blue and white shepherdess tea cup; an underglaze blue and iron red tea bowl and saucer with a dignitary on horseback with boy attendants; a floral enamelled fluted tea bowl and saucer; a pair of small tea bowls and saucers decorated with European figures before European style buildings; a tea cup decorated with a European lady within a flower scroll border; a 'Judgement of Paris' tea cup; a flower-form bowl with moulded flowering branches; and a famille rose bowl with gentlemen in a landscape, one holding a hawk.

John Drew (1933–2006) was born in Tideswell, Derbyshire, and educated at Sedbergh School and the Queen's College, Oxford. He spent the majority of his professional career as an archivist in various African countries, before taking up a post at the University of Cape Town in 1978. His collection of Chinese ceramics encompasses pieces from the Neolithic period through to the eighteenth century. See R. Davids & D. Jellinek, , Oxford, 2011, p.157.
